Time Management Training:
Effective Time Management and Avoiding Time Waste

Effective Time Management Tip #1: Make room for what matters most.

If your day is too full, then I would suggest having more alone time so that you can regroup your thoughts and find out what can be done to be more productive with your effective time management. Think about things in your life that are doing more harm than good. These may even be things that seem "positive". But if they're draining energy out of you and not allowing you to move towards your goals, then they're actually not effective time management or positive at this moment in your life.

Effective Time Management Tip #2: Downsize your life.

One of the biggest problems that people have when trying to manage their effective time management is attempting to do too much at once. There are only 24 hours in a day and no amount of wishful thinking can change that fact. This may be stating the obvious, but sometimes we don't see these things even when they are right in front of us.

The more things are going on in your life, the more you'll have to remember. This creates a cycle of doing so much busy work that important tasks end up not being done. If you can eliminate certain activities from your life, you'll be making room for the essentials to get done. This is effective time management and will free you to move forward.

Effective Time Management Tip #3: Get a handle on wasted time.

The average time that people spend looking for things each year is 150 hours. This is a lot of time that is being wasted. As the saying goes: time is money. Effective time management is money in your pocket. When you spend hours looking for things that you've misplaced, it's like grabbing a handful of cash and throwing it out the window. The time we spend looking for things could be spent being productive and even making money. So if you really want to learn the use of effective time management, I strongly suggest getting organized.

Effective Time Management Tip #4: Implement habits so that you don't lose important objects.

Many years ago, I left my credit card in a restaurant. That scare was enough to literally change my habits when I go out. Now every time that I go out, I have a system in place so that I don't forget my credit card, or anything else for that matter. I always verify my purse and wallet before leaving anywhere. If I'm leaving a restaurant or somewhere where I was sitting down, I always check under the table and chairs to make sure that I haven't forgotten anything. This habit has helped me to not lose anything for years.

By implementing simple effective time management systems, you can prevent wasting time and money. All of this will make room for you to have the effective time management for the more important things in life.
