Time Management:
Tips From Time Management Courses For the Professional

I will be the first to admit that the amount I needed to do in my life, career, personal, and financial areas seemed to be getting out of hand. Everywhere I looked there seems to be something else that needed to be handled.

Lost my terrific website, through my own fault so that needs to be redone. Researching how to develop a new one takes time. However, instead of being a bad thing I looked at it as a way to really dig deep and find out what I truly have to share with the world. In addition, I will now be able to make the changes on the website when I want and not have to give instructions and wait for the website developer.

Information overload was beginning to be a problem. It would take me a couple of hours to wade through the daily emails. Solution? I looked at each email that came in. I got good at using the unsubscribe button. Amazing how much time that has saved me.

Since writing is an important part of my life for many reasons, it became necessary to designate a time to write about my ideas. For me I realized that if I did not have writing done by 9:00 a.m. my mind began to be muddled with all the other things swirling around me. Now I put on my favorite jazz piano music and the ideas flow.

Social media can be a real time drain. I have developed my own rules. No more than a half hour in the morning and half hour at night. Spending that much time is necessary for I am learning how to use it for marketing.

I have a home office. Remember when we couldn't say that? I learned long ago that I had to let the housekeeping go for I would get easily sidetracked. What I did notice was about 3:30 p.m. I seem to be losing steam since I am normally up about 5:30 a.m. Instead of beating myself up about accomplishing very little then, I realized this was the perfect time to take care of the household chores.

Now that I have figured out the rhythm of my life, the focus has gotten clearer and I am accomplishing much more. Think about slowing down long enough to see what works best for you.
