Time Management:
Time Management Workshop - How to Use Your Time Wisely
There is one sure fire way to stop procrastination in its tracks and that is to learn the skill of how to use your time wisely. It is indeed a life skill that needs to be learnt and eventually mastered. It is either passed as unimportant and fantasy or not even recognised as the success inhibitor it really is. You must therefore begin to treat your time like the gold dust it really is and become conscious of the value it holds.
Time is the one thing that you can never get back and that is why it is so important to use it wisely. You can always lose money and find ways to get it back, in some cases with interest. In fact certain individuals have lost vast fortunes, some more than once and always seem to know how to get it back. It is these individuals, that by doing what they do, would probably never waste their own valuable time and now you must learn to do the same.
It is so easy to be sidetracked by lives little distractions and we sometimes welcome them without realising the impact they have on our productivity. Before we know it, they turn into a much bigger distraction and it becomes that much more difficult to get things back on track. The one thing that most of us find difficult to do is to say a simple no. You do not have to be rude and abrupt. It only takes a polite suggestion that you have other things on and that you will deal with them at a later time.
It is having the ability to be strong willed and disciplined with your priorities that will enable you to start using your time wisely and by doing this, stop procrastination. You will soon come to realise that there are many who like nothing better than becoming a drain on our time and filling it with their own problems and woes. It is not our job to be a cushion to anybody who feels they have a right to burden us with issues other than the ones that are worthy of our time.
When we can finally deal with how to use our time wisely and separate it into categories of importance, then and only then can we finally stop procrastination. In the same way that the wealthy become rich by not only making money, but saving money; we must also develop our management of time and at the same time save it by eliminating our need to procrastinate.
