Time Management:
Time Management Skills Training for Work-Life Balance - Is There Such a Thing?

What does work- life balance mean to you? Is there such a thing? I believe the balance lies in truly engaging in whatever is in front of you. Whether it is work related or you are connecting with yourself, family or friends. I am not here to tell you, x hours for work and x hours for family. That is totally unrealistic, especially if you are an entrepreneur. It is all dependent on your wants and needs.

As an entrepreneur, lately I have been spending seven days a week on work. I enjoy what I do and want to help others to create that supportive environment so they can enjoy working on their businesses and practice time management to balance it with their personal life.

I actively engage in whatever project is in front of me, like this article for example. I am sitting at my kitchen table with music on while I am writing. I do not have twenty other things going on all at once.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, I spent most my time with my husband just having fun and enjoying one another laughing, cooking or just sitting quietly in each other's company. For me, that was a priority and a balance.

I set priorities for myself daily, listing them on a dry erase board. This time management routine helps me to avoid becoming overwhelmed and I see the list constantly so it keeps me on track as well. I look at what I want in my life and then prioritize regularly. I believe that my actions in this moment are creating my future.

Life is always changing and I need to be flexible so I can adjust quickly to what is going on around me. Sometimes issues are work related and other times they are home related.

There are times when we need to use time management to re-balance ourselves. This means time for rejuvenation such as reading, going to the beach, riding a bike, exercising or just making a cup of coffee and sitting outside listening to the birds and reconnecting. When we do this, we gain clarity, peace of mind, and then have so much more to give.

Balance is about strength and focus for any situation in that moment of life. Celebrate yourself, be present and share with others in your life. It does not matter if it involves work, family or friends.

It is your relationship with yourself that balances work and play. What are your priorities? What are your wants and desires? Go for it! Engage in whatever activity is transpiring with whoever is in front of you. Truly listen to one another and be present for your life.
