Time Management Seminars for Getting Things Done - Reduce Distractions to Accomplish More

Distractions are things that can block your productivity because they will make you lose focus. Even though you may be able to finish your tasks, they will not be your best.

So how do you effectively reduce distractions to be more productive?

First of all, you should consider the two points in reducing distractions. The first point is that, what works for you may be different from what works for others. While the second point is that, you should know your habits first before you can be able to practice what is the best habit for you that can increase your productivity.

Don't worry though, because you don't need much time or effort to know how your habits are affecting your productivity, so you can adjust them accordingly.

If you're like most people today, it is most likely that you're used to do multitasking. It means that you have so many things to do in one day, and you try to do all of them simultaneously. The truth is that you may multitask, but don't overdo it. If you overdo it, you may not be able to finish all of your tasks, and the results will not be satisfactory.

It is the same as distractions. You can't finish all of your tasks, and the results will be poor if you have too many distractions. You may usually do your work while watching TV or chatting with friends. They may help you feel comfortable, but they may also distract you from what you're trying to accomplish. To be able to solve this, as what I've said earlier, you need to know your habits first. You can try to turn off the TV, and stop chatting with your friends. If that works for you, meaning that you can finish more tasks better, then that's the best habit for you. If watching TV and chatting with friends help you instead, then that is the best habit that you can keep.

If you work with others, try to approach them and tell them politely to stop whatever activities that can reduce your productivity.
