Time Management:
Time Management Courses and Your 31,557,600 Seconds

Everyone knows there are 365 days this year, and 52 weeks.......but what you may not know is there are:

    8,766 Hours in the year.
    525,960 Minutes in the year.
    31,557,600 Seconds in the year!

You have just 31.5 million seconds available this year to grow your practice and enhance your life!

December 31st seems far away... but as the second hand sweeps around the dial, and the minutes fly by and the hours become days and days become weeks and the weeks become months.... January will be over in less than two weeks... do you have an appropriate sense of urgency?

Each of us have the same amount of time... including your competitive colleague. How that time is used determines your final outcome. While everyone wants to go to Heaven, most do not want to die. If living is your choice, how will you use your time to grow your practice, create wealth and leave a legacy?

Most Americans spend most of their time sleeping and working. We all need sleep... that's 7-9 hours gone each day. Most folks work a minimum of 8 hours per day... so that leaves a mere 8 hours or so for the rest of our responsibilities and obligations.

You need time management to make time for family, friends and yourself.... to have a healthy body, mind and soul. But, if your business is the source of your income and you must be present to make it happen... when do you have time to work ON your business?

What tasks are you doing that could be delegated to a lesser paid person? Is your time really best spent opening mail, running to the bank, paying bills, surfing the internet, watching news, filling your tank, shopping for milk, cutting the grass, shoveling snow...

Think of it this way... if you cut out some lower-level tasks and used that time to work ON your business, what would be the impact? Let's look at the numbers:

Dedicating just one hour per day to work ON your business, would add 365 hours for growing your business.... or an extra 45 days in the year... 9 WHOLE WEEKS available for your business optimization. Just from freeing up and focusing one hour per day!

Now, if your business calendar had 61 weeks and your competitive colleague only had 52... what advantage would you have?

We talk about time management, but time cannot be managed... it continues to move forward regardless of what you think you control. Since you cannot manage time, you must use it effectively and be aware that you can always improve how you use your time.

Go to the office an hour earlier... stay an hour later... that TWO WHOLE HOURS of "block time" that you can use to grow your practice, by doing the stuff that will have a profound impact over time.

If all you did was to use the hour at the end of the day to call patients... no shows or inactives... you would be amazed with the impact this would have on your bottom line.

You have a level playing field, in terms of time available to everyone, it is how you use it that will matter.

Make a list of tasks that you can give up, that you can delegate, which will free you up to work ON your practice and achieve your desired outcome faster. Time is limited... use it wisely.
