Time Management Course - Forming New Habits
It seems like every time you turn around there is more needing to be accomplished, but the problem is - where do you find the time to do it all? Between errands that have to be run, tasks that must be completed at work and helping the kids with homework, your day may be over before you know it. So, how do you get more out of the time that you have each day?
The key to becoming more productive lies in having some kind of well thought out time management system. As with anything, effective time management is a habit which, once it is ingrained, can become much easier to manage day-to-day. In order get started on the path to effective time management, there are a few simple things they need to keep in mind.
#1 - Be cognizant of the fact that old habits die hard. Your inability to manage time effectively is not a reflection of your personality but more a result of unproductive habits. Once you define your goals for your time management system, work each day and before you know it your old unproductive habits will be replaced with new ones.
#2 - Make a commitment to the new time management habit. As time passes, it's easy to become frustrated or lose interest in a new habit that you're trying to adopt. The key to being successful in with a new time management system is going to be staying committed to it even though it may get difficult or boring.
#3 - Let others know about your goals. By going public with your new goals, you're much more likely to accomplish them. The reason for this is twofold. The first is that by telling others about your goals, you placed positive pressure on yourself to not let others down. The second part of this relates to the support and encouragement to get from others who want to help you succeed with your objectives.
Even though we all struggle from time to time with being as productive as like to, remember that there are always enough hours in the day to achieve your goals as long as you have a well thought out plan for doing so.
