Time Management:
3 Time Management Workshop Tips on How to Mix in Playtime With Work Successfully
In the world we live in today, it could be quite a challenge to carry out all the activities we have planned. Most of the time we have work taking up most of our time and not leaving us time for other activities like hanging out with friends and painting the town red. With adequate planning and time management, you can easily organize your time better and at least give every activity a chance to be addressed. Below is a time management strategy to help you arrange activities in order of importance.
• Create a To Do List
• Prioritize Your List
• Combine Unplanned Activities
Create A To Do List
At the beginning of the month make a list of every activity you would like to take part in, including visiting friends, hobbies and downtime. Most of the time we do not include recreational activities in our time management or to-do list, and that's where the problem starts. They are usually left out of our plans as a result and we end up with just work, work and more work.
Prioritize Your List
After you have made your list the fun part begins. This is the task of prioritizing your list, putting the activities in a hierarchical order. Put things that must be done on list A, such as buying groceries. On list B include things that could be done either this week or next week. On this list you have things like hanging out with friends or going to watch a movie. On the C list you should include things that can wait until whenever you get to them.
Now take an activity from list B and swap it with an activity in list A that you can afford to do the next week. If it is not possible, then try and move through your list very fast so that you can finish with the things in List A and then catch up on at least one activity in list B.
Combine Unplanned Activities
You can combine unplanned activities into any of your lists and do them together. For example you can return phone calls while driving to the grocery store.
You can always take a second look at your list and move things around. With this time management system, at least nothing is missed and you can hopefully have some fun as well.
